Recovery after breast implant removal

The recovery process varies per patient and breast implant removal surgery, however the recovery process is generally quicker than the initial implant surgery, unless you have your breasts tightened or lifted after the removal.

If you are having your implants removed due to capsular contracture, your recovery time will be longer with more discomfort.

After about five days to one week, you will be able to return to work. It’s also important to avoid lifting anything over five kilograms or exercising heavily over the six weeks post your implant removal surgery. After about six weeks, you should be able to resume your normal activities.

Dr Mark Hanikeri will provide you with more information specific to your own personal recovery and requirements.
